How do you play G sharp on trumpet?

To play G# on a B-flat trumpet, you must first play a G with the second and first valves depressed. Then lift your second valve while keeping the first pressed down. If this does not help play around by slightly adjusting how far or hard you're depressing on first or third valves until the desired G# note is heard. For most players adjusting your second valve will play the G#.
