How do you remove the instrument panel on a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport?

1. Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical damage from occurring while you are working.

2. Remove the steering wheel. There are two bolts that hold the steering wheel in place. Remove these bolts and then pull the steering wheel straight off of the steering column.

3. Remove the instrument cluster bezel. There are four screws that hold the instrument cluster bezel in place. Remove these screws and then pry the bezel off of the dashboard.

4. Remove the instrument cluster. There are four bolts that hold the instrument cluster in place. Remove these bolts and then pull the instrument cluster straight out of the dashboard.

5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the instrument cluster. There are several electrical connectors that are plugged into the back of the instrument cluster. Disconnect these connectors by pressing on the release tabs and then pulling them straight off of the instrument cluster.

6. Install the new instrument cluster. Reverse the steps above to install the new instrument cluster.

7. Test the instrument cluster. Once the new instrument cluster is installed, turn on the ignition and make sure that all of the gauges and lights are working properly.
