What is a hollow body guitar?
A Hollowbody guitar is a type of guitar that features a hollow body construction, as opposed to a solid body. The body of the guitar is made from a thin shell of wood with air inside, creating a resonant chamber that amplifies the sound of the strings. This design creates a warmer, more mellow tone compared to solid body guitars, making hollowbodies popular for genres like jazz and blues. Hollowbody guitars often feature one or more sound holes (F holes) in the top of the body to allow the sound to be projected. Some models also have a raised centre block running along the length of the body, which helps increase sustain and reduce unwanted feedback.
