What is the difference between acoustic drums and regular drums?

Acoustic drums and "regular drums" are the same things. The term "acoustic drums" is redundant since all musical drums produce sound through acoustic oscillation and require a resonant chamber (i.e. drum head) by definition.

Therefore, the term "acoustic drums" is most often used to differentiate electronic drums and the traditional musical instrument referred to simply as "drums".
