What do the numbers on trumpet notes mean?

The numbers on trumpet notes refer to the position of the valve that needs to be pressed in order to play that note.

For example, the note "C" on a trumpet is played by pressing down the third valve.

So, if you see a note with a number 3 next to it, you know that you need to press the third valve to play that note.

The numbers for trumpet notes are as follows:

* 0 - No valve is pressed

* 1 - First valve is pressed

* 2 - Second valve is pressed

* 3 - Third valve is pressed

* 4 - First and second valve is pressed

* 5 - First and third valve is pressed

* 6 - Second and third valve is pressed

* 7 - All three valves are pressed
