What are the flute parts called?

Flute Parts:

1. Headjoint: This is the part where you blow air into the flute. It consists of:

> - Lip Plate: The part of the headjoint that you blow air across

> - Embouchure Hole: The hole in the lip plate that the air passes through

> - Riser: The part of the headjoint that leads from the embouchure hole to the body of the flute

> - Crown: The top of the headjoint

> - Cork: A small piece of cork that fits on the riser to help direct the air

2. Body: The middle section of the flute that connects the headjoint to the footjoint. It contains:

> - Tone Holes: The holes in the body that you cover with your fingers to change the pitch of the sound

> - Keys: The levers that cover the tone holes

3. Footjoint: The bottom section of the flute. It contains:

> - Key Cup: The part that the key fits into

> - Key Arm: The part that connects the key to the footjoint

> - Footjoint Cork: A small piece of cork that fits in the footjoint to help direct the air
