How do you use an antistatic wrist band?

Here's how to use an antistatic wrist band:

1. Put on the wristband. The wristband should be snug but not too tight.

2. Attach the grounding cord to the wristband and ensure that the other end of the cord is connected to a proper ground.

Typical grounding points include:

a. A metal outlet cover plate with the grounding pin intact.

b. Chassis of a computer tower or other grounded equipment.

c. A metal table leg or other large grounded surface.

Note: If you're working with electronics, ensure the grounding cord is connected to the same electrical outlet the equipment is plugged into to avoid creating a ground loop.

3. Touch a grounded metal surface before handling any sensitive electronic components. This will help to discharge any static electricity that may have built up on the wristband.

4. Wear the wristband whenever you're handling electronic components or working in an environment where static electricity is present.

5. Replace the wristband when the conductive inner layer is damaged or exposed to avoid potential electric shocks.
