What is a V 4 2 chord?

In music theory, a V 4 2 chord (also known as a Vsus4 or a Vsus) is a sus chord that results from the replacement of the third in a basic major or minor chord with the fourth scale degree. Sus chords are built by stacking thirds one on top of another, starting from the root. The V 4 2 chord contains the root, perfect fourth, and perfect fifth of the scale.

For example, in the key of C major, a V 4 2 chord would consist of the notes G, C, and E. This chord is often used as a dominant chord, leading to the tonic chord (C major in this case).
