How are the snare drums traditionally held?

Traditional Grip:

In traditional grip, also known as the "matched grip" or "rudimental grip," the non-dominant hand holds the drumstick between the thumb and index finger, with the other three fingers curled underneath the stick. The dominant hand holds the drumstick between the thumb, index, and middle fingers. The palm is up, and the stick is held at an angle across the palm, with the butt end resting against the heel of the hand.

Matched Grip:

In matched grip, the dominant hand holds the drumstick between the thumb, index, and middle fingers, with the palm down and the stick resting against the base of the thumb. The non-dominant hand mirrors the grip of the dominant hand, with the palm facing up and the stick resting on the fingers. The drumsticks are held at a slight angle, and the hands form a 'V' shape.
