How did Belinda Carlisle get her start in the music industry?

Belinda Carlisle started her career in the music industry in 1977 as the lead singer of the Go-Go's, an all-female band from Los Angeles. The band was formed by Carlisle and several of her friends, and they quickly gained popularity for their catchy pop songs and energetic live performances. The Go-Go's released three studio albums and achieved multiple hit singles, including "We Got the Beat" and "Vacation." In 1984, Carlisle left the Go-Go's to pursue a solo career. She released her debut solo album, "Heaven on Earth," in 1984 and went on to release a total of six solo studio albums.
