Where did theme originate?
Theme is believed to have originated with Greek drama. The Greeks were not only pioneers of the concept of theme but also played a crucial role in refining and developing it. They understood that the theme is what unifies the elements of the play and gives it meaning and significance. They referred to the theme as the "mythos" or "logos." The Greek philosopher Aristotle's work, "Poetics," is considered the earliest substantial discussion on the theme, where he emphasizes its importance in creating a strong and coherent narrative.
