Where did country music begin?
The earliest origins of country music can be traced to the music of rural communities in the Southern United States. It developed from various musical influences, including Anglo-Celtic folk music, African-American blues and spirituals, cowboy music, and Mexican border music. The term "country music" came into use in the 1920s to distinguish this genre from other popular music of the time. One of the most important early centres for country music was the city of Nashville, Tennessee, which became known as "Music City USA" due to its strong association with the genre.
