What is folk nation made up of?

Folk Nation is an alliance of predominantly African-American street gangs based predominantly in the Midwest, United States. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which tracks such groups, Folk Nation is the oldest and largest of the two major alliances of street gangs in the United States, the other being the People Nation. While Folk Nation remains mostly an alliance of African American street gangs, many of these gangs are also racially diverse, with large Hispanic, white and Asian memberships.
