What is benguet festival dance?

Benguet Festival Dance, referred to as Pinya Festival Dance as well, is a fusion dance which features ethnic dances of the Igorot and Kankana-ey tribes. It is performed by both men and women, with graceful twirling of scarves to represent weaving and the swaying body movements resembling the flowing water. The dance depicts how the community thrives because of the gifts, blessings, and prosperity granted to them by Kabunian, the Supreme God. The lively steps, rhythmic arm movements, and colourful, indigenous costumes exude the energy, diversity and harmonious spirit of the Benguet people.
