The Idyllwild Jazz Festival

Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines is an annual two-day festival featuring performances by jazz and blues artists. First established in 1993, the festival takes place on the campus of the Idyllwild Arts Academy. The campus is located in southern California's San Jacinto Mountains, two hours east of Los Angeles.

    • A wide variety of jazz and blues artists have played at the festival. 2010 headliners included David Benoit, Kenny Washington and Oscar Hernandez. More than 25 solo artists and bands performed at the festival that year. 2009 performers included Marshall Hawkins and the Joni Mitchell Band, according to IdyllwildJazz.com.

    Lodgings

    • Cabins and inns are available in Idyllwild and other nearby towns such as Pine Cove and Fern Valley. The Idyllwild Lodging website lists area accommodations, and campgrounds are available in Mount San Jacinto State Park (see Resources for links).
