Lay the two wooden pallets next to each other. Center the 4 foot by-8-foot wooden panel over the top of the pallets.
Nail the wood panel onto the pallets with the 4 inch nails. Repeat for the other pallets and wooden panel. The two sides of the stage are constructed separately to allow you to easily move the stage from one venue to another.
Lay the vinyl tiling on the top of the wooden panel. Black and white tiled vinyl creates a glamorous look, but you can use any kind of vinyl tiling that appeals to you. Cut the vinyl to size using the craft knife.
Paint the back of the vinyl tiling and the tops of the wood panels with vinyl adhesive. Leave it until tacky and carefully lay one end of the vinyl down on the edge of the stage. With the help of your assistant, slowly press the rest of the vinyl down, smoothing it out as you go to avoid air bubbles.
Leave the vinyl to cure while you put the finishing touches on the front edge. Paste a strip of self stick base molding to the front of the pallets so that they are hidden from view.
