How old to be a drummer?

There is no set age to start learning how to play the drums or to become a professional drummer. However, many people believe that the best age to begin is between the ages of 6 and 9 years old. This is because children in this age range typically have better motor coordination and are developmentally ready to start learning a musical instrument. However, there are many successful drummers who started learning later in life and there is no reason why someone of any age can't learn to play.
