How to make music on the computer?

1. Choose a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)

Your DAW is the software that you will use to record, edit, and mix your music. There are many different DAWs available, so it's important to choose one that is right for you. Some of the most popular DAWs include Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Reason, and Cubase.

2. Connect your MIDI keyboard and/or microphone

If you are using a MIDI keyboard, connect it to your computer using a MIDI cable. If you are using a microphone, connect it to your computer using an XLR cable.

3. Open a new project in your DAW

Once you have connected your MIDI keyboard and/or microphone, open a new project in your DAW.

4. Add a MIDI track or audio track

To record MIDI data, click on the "Add MIDI Track" button in your DAW. To record audio data, click on the "Add Audio Track" button.

5. Select your input device

In the "Input" section of the track, select your MIDI keyboard or microphone as the input device.

6. Arm the track for recording

Click on the "Arm" button in the track to arm it for recording.

7. Start playing your MIDI keyboard or singing into your microphone

The track will start recording your MIDI data or audio data.

8. Edit your MIDI data or audio data

Once you have finished recording, you can edit your MIDI data or audio data using the editing tools in your DAW.

9. Add effects to your MIDI data or audio data

You can also add effects to your MIDI data or audio data using the effects plugins in your DAW.

10. Mix your tracks

Once you have finished editing and adding effects to your tracks, you can mix them together using the mixing console in your DAW.

11. Export your mix

Once you are happy with your mix, you can export it to a WAV file or MP3 file.
