How to Find Music Copyright Forms

Whether you are a songwriter with an original album of songs or a music publisher with an entire catalog of songs, you'll need to know how to find music copyright forms in order to protect your music. The United States Copyright Office has several types of forms available to copyright music.

      Visit the United States Copyright Office website (www.copyright.gov).

      Click on the "How to Register a Work" link.

      Choose one of the following options:

      1) Click on the "Electronic Copyright Office" button to visit the Electronic Copyright Office and access several types of music copyright forms.

      2) Scroll down and click on "Form CO" link to download the Form CO.

      3) Request a paper music copyright form by clicking on the "upon request" link under the "Registration with Paper Forms" heading and submitting your request.
