How do you play an e on a guitar?

There are three common ways of playing an E note on a guitar.

On the first string

Place the index finger on the first fret of the first string. Strum this string.

On the fifth string

Place your middle finger on the second fret of the fifth string. Strum this string.

On the fourth string

Place your ring finger on the fourth fret of the fourth string. Strum this string.
