Who were the members of runaways?

The original lineup of The Runaways, formed in 1975, consisted of:

* Joan Jett: Lead guitar and vocals

* Sandy West: Drums and vocals

* Lita Ford: Lead guitar

* Jackie Fox: Bass guitar

* Cherie Currie: Lead vocals

While this was the most well-known lineup, several members came and went throughout the band's short but influential career.

* Jackie Fox left the band in 1977 and was replaced by Vicki Blue.

* Cherie Currie left the band in 1978 and was replaced by Sandy West (who switched from drums to lead vocals).

* Sandy West then left the band in 1980.

* Lita Ford was the final member to leave the band, in 1983, after which the band disbanded.

Although Joan Jett went on to have a successful solo career, The Runaways remain an important force in the history of rock music, paving the way for female artists in the industry.
