1. Meet the Basic Requirements:
* Be an Active Duty Soldier: You must be in the U.S. Army.
* Hold a MOS: Have a valid Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
* Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT): Achieve a score of at least 90 points on the APFT.
* Pass the Ranger Assessment Program (RAP): This is a physically and mentally demanding two-week selection course that evaluates your ability to meet the demands of Ranger School.
2. Receive a Sponsorship:
* Command Support: Your unit commander must support your application and believe you have the potential to succeed.

3. Apply to Ranger School:

* Attend Ranger School: If selected, you will attend a demanding 63-day course at Fort Benning, Georgia.
4. Complete Ranger School:
* Physical Demands: You'll face intense physical training, challenging terrain, and demanding patrols.
* Mental Demands: You'll face sleep deprivation, stress, and constant pressure.
* Leadership Challenges: You'll be tested on your leadership, decision-making, and tactical skills.
5. Earn the Ranger Tab:
* Successful Completion: If you successfully complete all phases of Ranger School, you will earn the coveted Ranger Tab and be considered a "Real Ranger."
Key Points:
* Not Guaranteed: Ranger School is extremely competitive, and only a small percentage of soldiers successfully complete it.
* Hard Work and Determination: Becoming a Real Ranger requires an immense amount of physical and mental fortitude.
* Ongoing Training: Earning the Ranger Tab is not the end. Rangers are required to maintain their skills and stay physically fit.
