What is a marching quad?

A marching quad is a musical ensemble consisting of four percussion instruments that are played while the performers are marching. The instruments typically used in a marching quad are the snare drum, bass drum, cymbals, and tenor drum. The snare drum is the highest-pitched instrument in the quad and is played with two sticks. The bass drum is the lowest-pitched instrument in the quad and is played with a mallet. The cymbals are played with a stick or mallet and produce a bright, crashing sound. The tenor drum is played with two mallets and produces a lower-pitched, sustained sound.

Marching quads are often used in military parades, marching bands, and other musical ensembles that perform while moving. They can also be used in indoor percussion ensembles, where they are played in a stationary position.
