Don't miss the State Fair. The State Fair of Virginia is held at Richmond and is a great opportunity to see some stellar live performances. See the Web site to see who is playing this coming year.
Catch the National Folk Festival. This outdoor celebration of folk music is held in October. You can volunteer to help or just show up at the riverfront to participate in the fun.
Get to the venue early. When admission is free and seating is on the lawn, you'll want to get there as soon as possible so you can find the best spots.
