Dr. Lou's Place is located in Roebling, which is situated along the banks of the Delaware River approximately 10 miles south of Trenton. Dr. Lou's has an open stage seven days a week form noon until 7 p.m. and open mic nights on Tuesdays through Fridays from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. It also has open band nights on Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. In addition to the open mic evenings and various drink specials, Dr. Lou's is known for its excellent bar food. It also has a drive-through service for ice cream and other sweets. Both professionals and amateurs are invited to perform on-stage.

One of the most famous music clubs in the country, the Stone Pony is in Asbury Park, the well-known resort community on the New Jersey shore. On Thursday evenings, starting at 7:30 p.m., it has what it calls an Open Artist Night that is open to all singers, performers and songwriters. Equipment is provided and artists are given 10 minutes to perform. The Stone Pony also brings in many professional acts, including successful bands from the past.
