How to Set Up a Gemini PS-525 Mixer

Good DJs smoothly transition between songs, creating a musical atmosphere without any interruptions. They accomplish this with the use of an audio mixer like the Gemini PS-525 and two audio sources (turntables, computers, CD decks). While the current song is playing, DJs can listen to the track to be played next in their headphones. This allows them to select a specific point in the song at which to start, in order to line up the beat of the music or even the pitch and melody.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the power switch in the "off" position. This switch is located next to the power cord on the back of your Gemini PS-525.

    • 2

Plug a stereo RCA cable into the main output jack of the mixer located on the back panel of the Gemini PS-525. This cable will go to your amplifier or a music venue's front-of-house mixer for playback.

    • 3

Plug the other end of your main output cable into the input jack of your amplifier.

    • 4

Plug your 1/4-inch headphone plug into the headphone output jack located on the front panel of your PS-525. If your headphones require a 1/8-inch jack, you can purchase an adapter from any home electronics store.

    • 5

Plug another stereo RCA cable into the RCA output of one of your playback devices (turntable, CD deck, computer).

    • 6

Plug the other end of this cable into one of the RCA inputs on the Gemini PS-525. These connections will be located on the back panel of your mixer.

    • 7

Repeat Steps 5 and 6 to hook up your other playback device. You will now have two sources from which you can play back and mix audio signals.
