Set your wireless microphone and receiver to the same frequency. This way, the receiver will pick up the wireless signal. You will test the mic to make sure there is no interference on the frequency you chose later.
Connect the wireless mic's receiver to the soundboard. You can use track 1. On the back of your soundboard on track 1, you will see two kinds of inputs, XLR and 1/4." Choose the appropriate input for your cable.
Look at the back of your soundboard. You should see several different kinds of outputs on the master fader track. Take one output to your camera and one output to your CD recorder. Use the right kind of CD recorder, one that records live. These look like VCRs or DVD players and have the option to record live.
Test your equipment with headphones. Plug the headphones into the soundboard's headphone jack. Place the master fader and track one's fader to 0. Ask your performer to speak into the mic. Slowly turn up the gain knob at the top of track one until you have a good sound level. Test the camera with the headphones to make sure sound is getting to the camera.
Start your camera rolling. Put a blank CD into the CD recorder. Hit record on the CD recorder.
Begin the learning broadcast.
Press stop on the CD recorder once the learning broadcast has ended. The CD recorder will ask you to finalize. This means you are permanently burning the CD. Finalize the CD and listen back to it to make sure it recorded.
