How to Use a Drawer Rack Case

Every touring musician will tell you that space is a precious commodity on the road. Everything is packed down to travel size constantly and has to be unloaded, setup, tested, played, broken down and finally packed back tightly in the trailer or van to make room for the new shipment of merchandise that just came in. Using space savers like a rack drawer allow you to keep essential cables and tools close at hand when setting up and packed safely when not in use. The drawer will fill up either two or four rack spaces, depending on the model.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the space in your rack system where you would like your drawer to be installed. If you have other audio equipment installed in the rack already, you should install the drawer under them whenever possible. If the drawer is on top, when it is open you will not have access to the equipment underneath.

    • 2

Line up the holes on the front corners of your drawer with the holes on your rack system at the height you chose.

    • 3

Hold the drawer in place with one hand and insert a screw and nut into one corner with the other hand. Finger-tighten the screw immediately. You can let go of the drawer once the screw is halfway in.

    • 4

Insert the remaining three screws and nuts into their corners and finger-tighten them.

    • 5

Tighten all of the screws with your Phillips head screwdriver. Your rack drawer is now installed and ready for use.
