The first radio commercial aired on August 28, 1922, during a live broadcast of a baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox. The commercial was for the Queensboro Realty Company and it was read live on the air by station WEAF's announcer, H.M. Blackwell. The commercial was a 10-minute long sales pitch for the company's real estate in Queens, New York.
