      Log into an Amazon.com account. A new account can also be created at checkout.

      From the "Shop All Departments" menu on the left, choose "Digital Downloads." Select "MP3 Downloads" from the submenu.

      Browse the new and notable offerings on the music homepage to find music for purchase. To search for a particular artist or song title, type the name into the search box at the top of the screen then click the "Go" button.

      Preview songs by clicking the black play button to the left of the title. Click the orange "Buy MP3" button in the right side column to begin a transaction.

      Although the Amazon MP3 downloader is not required to purchase music, click the button to install the software. Otherwise, agree to the terms of service and click the "Skip installation and continue" link.

      From the "Complete your song download" page, check the terms of use box. Press the yellow "Download Song" box to begin saving the song to the hard drive.

      From the file download pop up box, click "Save." Do not choose "Open" or "Cancel." New customers will be prompted to enter payment information and open a new account before completing the download.
