The Traktor interface is split up into three sections. The top left half controls one track and the top right half controls the other track. The bottom half is the device library, where you can select which songs you want to mix.
Select what songs you want to mix from the device library. The device library is located at the bottom half of the interface. Drag your first song you want to mix onto either the left or right track. Then drag the second song you want to mix onto the other track.
Press the "Play" button located at the bottom left corner of each track. Traktor's time-stretching engine automatically adjusts the tempo of each track so they will play perfectly in time with one another. Use the crossfader located in the middle between the two virtual decks to fade between the left and right tracks.
Each track has its own separate equalizer. An equalizer allows you to filter out or boost certain frequencies. Use the equalizer to make your mix more balanced. The equalizer for the left deck is located to the right of the track. The equalizer for the right deck is located to the left of the track. Turn the equalizer knob all the way to the left to cut out that certain frequency and all the way to the right to boost that certain frequency. Use the headphone cue button located at the bottom right hand corner of each deck to play back how your mix sounds like in your headphones. Use this button to fine-tune your mix and to make sure there are no conflicting frequencies.
Click the "On" button located at the top left of each deck to turn on an effect for the respective track. Select which effect you would like by clicking the effect name and selecting an effect from the drop-down menu.
