How Do I Enable a Stereo Mix With SoundMAX Digital Audio?

SoundMAX Digital Audio is a basic element of your computer's sound card. However, SoundMAX usually lets the motherboard or computer manufacturer decide how to install the SoundMAX Digital Audio component. A common problem with the default SoundMAX Digital Audio software is that there's no stereo option available for audio playback. If you've found this to be the case, the problem may be that you don't have the latest driver. Installing it and following one easy tip will give you clearer, louder stereo sound.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate your browser to the SoundMAX Audio Driver Download site (see Resources).

    • 2

Scroll through the options and choose the download that best suits your PC (e.g., choose the Windows Vista option if you have Windows Vista). Click the country you're living in to begin the download.

    • 3

Unzip the file after it's finished downloading and run the setup.exe file. Install the program.

    • 4

Open the SoundMAX Digital Audio software. A "Stereo Mix" option should now be available. It's in the bottom right corner of the software window. Move it up or down to increase the output volume of your audio playback.
