Wiring Options for the Eurorack UB1202

Behringer's Eurorack UB1202 mixer is a powerful tool for audio technicians and producers. The mixer is equipped with 12 microphone and line inputs, as well as a sophisticated equalization and effects-routing system. These features create a flexible environment in which a control room operator can wire the mixer for a number of microphone arrangements and audio processes.
  1. Microphone Wiring

    • Each of the Eurorack's 12 audio inputs is equipped with a +48 V phantom power adapter. Condenser microphones require this additional power to function properly. After connecting your condenser microphones to the mixer with your XLR cables, press the +48 V button next to the XLR ports to activate the phantom power. Dynamic microphones do not require this additional power, and will function properly after being plugged into the microphone ports.

    Headphone and Speaker Wiring

    • The Eurorack has multiple audio outputs, allowing outgoing sound to be diverted to speakers, headphones, and monitor speakers. Some headphones may require a 1/4-inch adapter, as the UB1202 uses a 1/4-inch port for in-ear monitoring. Volume levels for headphones are adjusted using the knob labeled "phones," located to the left of the master volume control. Connect your speakers to the master outputs located to the right of the headphone port. Depending on your sound system, line-in ports as well as standard stereo ports are available for use.

    Instrument Cable Wiring

    • The UB1202 allows for a maximum of 12 line-in inputs. If you are connecting electrified instruments or amplifiers to your mixer, the required instrument cables will plug directly into the line-in ports on the console. Each port is assigned an equalization channel whose control parameters are clearly marked on the lower half of the mixer. Using the knobs assigned to each channel, sound frequencies and volumes can be adjusted to refine your overall mix.
