Install Ozone on your computer if you haven't done so already. Open Cubase and start a new project by selecting "File" and "New Project."
Select "File" and "Import Audio." Navigate to the song you want to master or remaster. Select the song file and click "Import" to add the file to a new track in your project. Press "Play" to listen to the entire track as is and make note of things you want Ozone to change.
Navigate to the mixer window and locate the track that contains the song to be mastered. This should be the only audio track on the mixing board. Select "Izotope Ozone" from the plugins menu to load the Ozone plugin onto this track. The audio from your song now passes through Ozone before coming out of the speakers.
Select a desired preset from the list that appears on the Ozone home screen. For example, the "Bass Booster" preset works well on a track that needs more low-end volume. Click on the selected preset and press "Play" to listen to the Ozone-edited song.
Try out the different presets in the Ozone home screen until you find one that best suits your song and most closely imitates your vision of what the song should sound like. Customize the sound by changing the slider settings in the small window that pops up when you click on a preset. You can change the EQ settings, overall loudness of the preset, distortion volume and many others.
Listen to the edited song all the way through when you think you have it tweaked the way you want it. Listen for imperfections or adjustments that need to be made. When you are satisfied with the track, close the Ozone window, select your audio track, and click "File" and "Bounce" or "Export," depending on your version of the software, to create an MP3, WAV or AIF file of the newly mastered tune.
