Power on the Ensoniq ASR-10.
Press the "Sample" button. Source info will come up on the digital display. Then choose the polyphonic option, or stereo option, to determine which speaker the sound will come out of.
Set an instrument to sample. The ASR-10 has many digital sounds to choose from. Drums is usually a good place to start for first sampling sound.
Set additional samples to combine with the first sample. Press the "Sample" button in the sequence line and choose additional sounds as desired. This can include completed songs saved as WaveSamples.
Choose a root key on the synthesizer. The root key is the primary key that the music will be played in. Press "Command." Press "Edit" and press right on the d-pad to scroll to "Wave." Adjust the sound on the terminal until the desired pitch is found.This will allow the player to edit the sound.
Divide, or "chop," the sound. This process allows a user to break up tracks. Press the "Command" button. Scroll to the "Copy Wave Sample" selection. Press "Edit," scroll to "Wave" and press right on the d-pad; then select "Copy." Select the unnamed instrument location, which is what the user wants to copy. Select "Layer 1." Record as a primer unless there is data space.
Adjust the pitch of each sample by pressing "Command," then "Edit," then "Pitch" and adjusting on the d-pad. The pitch can be adjusted on the copied file by putting it on a new root key. The current pitch is heard by pressing the root key after adjustments are made. Multiple copies can be laid to as many individual keys as desired to alter the sound in many ways.
Play and record the new samples on their designated root keys to a new file in the chosen way to get the song sound you want.
