How to Hook Up an MPC1000 to Fruity Loops

Hooking up Akai's MPC 1000 drum sampler to Fruity Loops Studio lets you synchronize the two to keep the music in time. Connect the two using the Musical Instrument Digital Inteface, or MIDI, protocol. Many high-end sound cards have built-in MIDI ports. If yours doesn't, you'll need to connect a MIDI-to-USB interface to your computer before you can hook up Fruity Loops to your MPC 1000. Setting up the MPC 1000 with Fruity Loops is pretty straightforward, but requires to you configure both devices for the connection.
