Use a USB-enabled turntable to play back your records while simultaneously recording them to digital files on your computer. Using a digital-capable turntable deck will allow you to capture the essence of your records in a timeless format that will not degrade no matter how many years pass. Once the content of the vinyl is digitally captured, you can burn it to a CD.
Plug the headphone jack from your turntable into the microphone input of your computer. Set the input setting on your computer to enable the microphone, then press "Record" while playing the record to capture the sound digitally. Using this hardwired connection will maintain quality while enabling you to then burn the digital recordings to a blank CD.
Connect a microphone to your computer, then turn it on while playing the record on a turntable. Do this in a silent area, and keep the devices in close proximity to capture a decent recording of the content. Once the album is complete, you can import the digital files onto a blank CD by using standard CD-burning software.
Connect your USB turntable to your computer, but instead of copying the files to your hard drive, tell the computer to send the imported digital files straight to a blank CD. Open the settings folder in your USB-turntable software, then identify the destination folder as "Blank CD" instead of the name of your hard drive.
