* Phillips head screwdriver
* Flat head screwdriver
* Wire cutters
* Wire strippers
* Crimpers
* Electrical tape
* Solder (optional)
* Aftermarket radio
* Wiring harness (specific to your radio and vehicle)
1. Disconnect the Battery
Before you begin any electrical work, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the Factory Radio
1. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws that secure the radio in place.
2. Pull the radio out of the dash, being careful not to damage any of the wiring.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio.
3. Connect the Wiring Harness
1. Connect the wiring harness to the aftermarket radio, matching the colors of the wires.
2. If your radio has an antenna connector, connect it to the antenna input on the back of the radio.
4. Mount the Aftermarket Radio
1. Slide the aftermarket radio into the dash.
2. Secure the radio in place using the screws that you removed in step 2.
5. Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
6. Test the Radio
1. Turn on the ignition and test the radio to make sure that it is working properly.
2. If the radio is not working, check the wiring connections to make sure that they are correct.
Additional Notes:
* If your aftermarket radio does not have a built-in amplifier, you will need to install an external amplifier.
* If your vehicle has a Bose sound system, you may need to purchase a special wiring harness in order to bypass the Bose amplifier.
* If you are not comfortable with electrical work, you may want to have a professional install the aftermarket radio for you.
