How to Find Out If Headphones Leak Sound

Plug the headphones into a sound source. Many stereo systems come with a headphone output jack.

Turn the volume of the stereo or sound source all the way down.

Instruct an assistant to put the headphones on.

Turn the volume up to a comfortable listening level.

Back away from your assistant by 10 feet then begin walking towards them. Listen for audio bleeding.
