How to Set an Equalizer for a GNX1

DigiTech's GNX1 guitar processor gives users the ability to model dozens of guitar amps and cabinet styles. The GNX1 includes two channels for loading amp presets and applying effects. And while the GNX1's output may sound amazing on its own, you'll likely need to adjust its sound when you play your guitar with other instruments. The best way to blend the GNX1's sound in with other parts of your band is to set an equalizer for the active channel.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn your GNX1's "Output Volume" knob to the left to turn the device's volume off. Flip the "On/Off" switch to its "On" position, and then raise the "Output Volume" knob to the desired volume level.

    • 2

Select an amp model and cabinet type for the GNX1's green or red channel. Either channel can be used to set equalization; the colors are simply a way to distinguish them. Use either the "Green Amp" or "Red Amp" knob to select an amp model from the associated channel. Turn either the "Green Cabinet" or "Red Cabinet" knob to select a cabinet type.

    • 3

Press the GNX1's "Status" button to set the equalization parameters for the green channel. Press the "Status" button twice set the red channel's equalization.

    • 4

Turn the "Green Amp/Gain" knob to the left or right to adjust the selected channel's gain. Use the "Green Cabinet/Bass" knob to adjust the channel's bass, adjust the "Warp/Mid" knob for midtones and use the "Treble/Red Amp" knob to tweak the channel's upper frequencies.

    • 5

Press the "Exit" button, once you're satisfied with your equalization settings.
