How to Edit Audio Metadata

Audio players like Windows Media Player, Winamp and iTunes read an audio file's metadata to display details like the artist, title, album, year and publisher. If you have audio files that are not meta tagged or that have incorrect metadata, you can easily edit the metadata to make the correct details display.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the folder containing the audio file you want to edit the metadata for. Right-click on the audio file.

    • 2

Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the context menu.

    • 3

Click on the "Details" tab. This opens the audio's metadata form.

    • 4

Double click on the field you want to edit, and then type the desired text.

    • 5

Click on "Ok" to save the changes to the audio file.
