How to Set Up Motif ES7 to a Computer

The Yamaha Motif ES7 is an audio synthesizer you can connect to your computer to create new tracks or backing when recording and composing songs. The synthesizer comes with software used to control the instrument from your computer and export audio from the synthesizer into your computer's sound card.

      Check your computer's system requirements against the requirements listed on the "Tools for Motif ES" disc.

      Plug the narrow end of the USB cable into a slot on the computer and plug the square end into the synthesizer.

      Insert the disc into your computer's drive and install the software, including the USB drivers if necessary.

      Turn the synthesizer on.

      Press the "Utility" button to go to Utility Mode, then press "F5" and "SF4." This corresponds to "MIDI" and "Other" settings, and controls the MIDI transfer channel. The display should read "USB." Press the "Store" key to save this data.
