Where is your voicebox?
The voicebox, also known as the larynx, is located at the front of the neck, just below the Adam's apple. It is a hollow, tube-shaped organ that houses the vocal cords. The vocal cords are two bands of elastic tissue that vibrate when air passes through them, producing sound. The pitch of the sound is determined by the tension of the vocal cords, which is controlled by muscles in the larynx. The larynx also contains epiglottis, a flap of tissue that covers the vocal cords during swallowing to prevent food and drink from entering the lungs.
