ZZ Top is an American rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. The band is composed of vocalist and guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard. The band's name comes from the ZZ Top gasoline brand, which was popular in Texas in the 1960s. ZZ Top is known for their distinctive sound, which blends elements of blues, rock, and boogie rock. The band has released 15 studio albums, three live albums, and six compilation albums. ZZ Top has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
