How did aerosmith meet?

Steven Tyler met Joe Perry in 1969 at a show Tyler's band Strangeurs was performing at in Sunapee, New Hampshire. Perry was visiting Sunapee from Boston, where his band the Jam Band had been performing at the Boston Tea Party. Tyler and Perry began playing music together, as did Tyler and Perry's Jam Band bandmate Tom Hamilton, and the trio settled in Boston, eventually leading to the formation of Aerosmith in 1970.
