How to Find Outstanding Tickets

Tarnishing your driving record with an unpaid ticket is a great way to increase your insurance rates and put "points" on your license, which may eventually lead to a suspension of your license. If you believe you have misplaced a ticket or are looking to clear your record before applying for a high-security government job, finding the ticket is crucial.

Instructions

    • 1

Order a driving record from confidential third-party site DrivingRecord.org. If you have licenses from more than one state, you'll have to request separate records for each license.

    • 2

Call your state DMV (department of motor vehicles) or visit its website to request the record directly. Your record will show your traffic violations, accidents, endorsements, and restrictions.

    • 3

Contact the county court in the area where you received the ticket. If you contact the court through its website, you may be able to enter your driver's license information to view your outstanding tickets without calling attention to the fact that you have outstanding tickets.
