How to Make Hip Hop CD Covers

With the growing popularity of online music retailers such as Amazon, iTunes and Rhapsody, lots of people are learning how to burn their MP3 collections onto CDs. Burning your own CDs means making your own custom CD covers, and if your musical tastes run to hip-hop, you'll want images from that genre. With a little time, effort and imagination, you can make your own attractive CD cover that helps identify the type of music on the CD inside.

Instructions

    • 1

Trace the outline of your CD case onto a piece of construction paper.

    • 2

Cut out the resulting square using scissors, make sure to cut just inside the pencil line. This will allow the cover to fit nicely into the case. If adjustments are needed, they will be done in the final stages of the fitting.

    • 3

Browse hip-hop magazines, looking for images that reflect the characteristics of your hip-hop CD. Cut out both large and small images that will completely cover the construction paper square.

    • 4

Arrange the cutout photos on the construction paper square and glue them down. Fill the entire area; place smaller images on top of larger ones.

    • 5

Let the glue dry, then trim off any pieces of the pictures that are hanging over the edge of the square.

    • 6

Slide the CD cover into the jewel case. If it's too large, trim the sides until it fits properly.
