Tantric Rock Band Instruments

Tantric is an alternative rock band that started out in 2000. The band came to be after three members left another band called Days of the New. The band has released five full-length albums as of 2011. Among them are "Final," "Tantric," "After We Go," "The End Begins" and "Mind Control." Their self-titled album cleared 100,000 copies in sales. The instruments used for Tantric's music align with those traditionally used in rock and roll.
  1. Guitar

    • Todd Whitener, who also played guitar in the band Days of the New, was the original guitar player for Tantric. Whitener recorded both rhythm and lead guitars for the band's albums. In 2007, Joe Pessia from the band Population One took over on guitar.

    Bass

    • Jesse Vest, also of the band Days of the New, started out as the bass guitar player for Tantric. Erik Leonhardt became Tantric's bass player when the band changed guitarists and drummers.

    Drums

    • Drummer Matt Taul also played drums in Days of the New before switching to Tantric with his band mates. Taul left the band in 2007 and was replaced with Kevin Miller. Miller also played drums for the alternative rock band Fuel. Richie Monica took over after Miller left the band in 2009.

    Vocals

    • Hugo Ferreira was hired by the previous three members of Days of the New to sing for Tantric. Ferreira remains the only member from Tantric's original lineup in 2011.

    Violin

    • Marcus Ratzenboeck was added as a violin player for Tantric in 2009 for their "Mind Control" album. As of 2011, violin remains an instrument in the band's lineup.
