How to Upload a Music Demo

Instead of spending money on postage to send out your band's latest demo, you can often upload the demo directly to a record label's website. Smaller labels especially use this method because it is inexpensive, and the talent scouts can sort through the digital demos. Before submitting your demo, read through the label's guidelines to make sure it is in the proper format, and that all your contact information is given to the record label.

Click "Attach," and choose your demo from the items in the drop-down menu. If your file is not in the immediate list, choose the location of your file from the drop menu (such as your desktop or "My Music") and select the file from the list. You may need to change the file extensions at the bottom of the drop-down menu to see mp3s saved on your computer. Click "Ok" once you locate your file. Wait for the file to attach.
