Rocko was born Rodney Jerkins III on November 21, 1985. He began his music career in the early 2000s, releasing mixtapes and collaborating with other Atlanta rappers. In 2012, he released his debut studio album, "Self Made, Vol. 1". The album featured the hit single "U.O.E.N.O.", which peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In 2013, Rocko released his second studio album, "Gift of Gab". The album featured the hit single "Wild for the Night", which peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
